On Monday, the Khartoum State Ministry of Health accused the Rapid Support Forces(RSF) of shelling the Al-Thawra neighborhoods in the Karari locality of Khartoum, killing eight civilians and wounding four others.

Last Sunday, RSF launched artillery shelling on the western neighborhoods of Karari locality, killing seven people and wounding 43 others.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement obtained by Darfur 24 that eight civilians were killed and four others injured in shelling by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the second day of protests in Karari locality.

The ministry noted that the RSF continued its violent and systematic shelling of residential neighborhoods, targeting civilians in the eighth and tenth districts, at a time when civilian activity is most active during the night hours during the holy month of Ramadan.

The ministry stated that the Director General of the Department of Therapeutic Medicine, Ahmed Al-Bashir Fadlallah, visited the victims of the incidents at Al-Naw Teaching Hospital with the hospital’s Director General, Dr. Jamal Al-Tayeb, to check on the condition of the injured.

Karri locality has been scene of occasional artillery shelling attributed to the RSF.
