Al-Daien, February 25(Darfur24)

A senior source in the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) revealed the arrival of a new batch prisoners od war POW from the Sudanese army officer to Darfur after being transferred from the capital, Khartoum.

The source, who requested anonymity, confirmed to Darfur24 that the transfer of prisoners of high-ranking officers to Darfur is still ongoing, indicating the need to keep them in safe locations, according to him.

The source did not indicate a specific number of the captured officers who were transferred from Khartoum, but eyewitnesses confirmed to Darfur24 that a lorry truck carrying about (40) prisoners arrived in the city of Al-Daien on Monday, under heavy guard by three combat vehicles from the Rapid Support Forces, indicating that the truck is on its way to the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State.

One of the witnesses added that the prisoners are bound with iron chains and show signs of hunger and thirst.

The Rapid Support Forces, which are engaged in fierce fighting with the Sudanese army, are holding a number of army prisoners in their detention centers in the capital, Khartoum, but the intensification of the fighting has prompted them to transfer some of them to Darfur.
