January 15, 2025 Port Sudan: Darfur24 The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate denounced, on Wednesday, the human rights violations committed by Sudanese Army Forces and their allies against a number of residents of El-Gezira State, following their entry into the city of Wad-Madani.
The syndicate said in a statement that it “followed with great concern the targeting of some citizens of “Al-Kanabi” in El-Gezira State,” referring to the spread of video clips documenting the commission of serious crimes and violations against unarmed civilians.
The syndicate added that “these violations can not be justified under any pretext, as they exceed all humanitarian and legal standards, and push the country towards more violence and chaos,” according to the statement.
The statement continued that “the scenes of killing, summary executions, and burning villages bring to mind the violations that occurred during the dispersal of the sit-in at the General Command in June 2019, which reflects the continued culture of impunity and lack of justice.”
The union warned that repeating crimes without accountability will tear apart the social fabric and deepen the conflict in the country, calling for the imposition of the rule of law and bringing perpetrators to justice through fair and transparent trials.
The Sudanese Army Forces and their allies had committed widespread violations, including killing in shocking ways, against citizens in the city of Wad-Madani and a number of villages that the Forces had reached, according to video clips monitored and documented by human rights groups.
