December 26, 2024 Nairobi: Darfur24 A well-informed source within the National Uma Party confirmed that the Coordination Council intends to take action against the party Acting Chairperson, Fadlallah Burma, due to understandings with the Rapid Support Forces regarding the parallel government that political forces are planning to announce in the coming period.
The source told “Darfur24” that the Coordination Council of the National Uma Party gave Burma Nasir the choice of either backing down from the understandings reached between him and the Rapid Support Forces, or taking regulatory measures against him.
The source reported that the Coordination Council sent the day before yesterday the Chairperson’s Assistant; Abdul Jalil Al-Basha, and the Head of the Political Bureau; Mohamed Al-Mahdi Hassan, to Nairobi to inform Burma of the decisions.
He pointed out that the party had obtained information about understandings between the party leader and the Rapid Support Forces, whose allies intend to declare a government in areas under their control, adding that “the understandings had gone some way before the party verified them and decided to take action against the Acting Chairperson.”
“Darfur 24” learned from its sources that the leader of the Umma Party, Fadlallah Burma Nasir, is the closest candidate for the presidency of the Sovereignty Council in the parallel government.
Extensive consultations are underway between political blocs and groups to form a parallel government after a proposal submitted by the Revolutionary Front during meetings of the Coordination of Civilian Democratic Forces (Tagadum) in the middle of this month.
The proposal was widely rejected during the meetings, and the National Uma Party announced in a statement its categorical rejection of forming a parallel government, considering it a step towards dividing the country.
