October 16, Al-Sayah — Armed groups allied with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) stormed several villages in Al-Sayah in North Darfur, looting and displacing citizens, sources told Darfur24.
A local leader in the town, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Darfur24 that the RSF stationed in Al-Sayah closed the market completely, which caused residents to flee to neighboring villages in search of shelter and safety. Armed groups allied with the RSF allegedly pursued civilians in the villages and neighboring areas, looted their homes, confiscated Wi-Fi devices, and arrested some of them.
The villages that were stormed were: Um-Ja’al, Din, Labadna, Hillat-Ibrahim, Hillat-Bishara, Um-Sharbak, Mabsouta, Hillat- Akhdar, and Hillat- Shatta.
The RSF took control of Al-Sayah town in September. A resident of Al-Sayah town, Yousif Mohamed Al-Mustafa, told Darfur24 that battles have been taking place in the town between RSF and Popular Resistance Group, which caused the displacement of citizens.
