October 11, Tina — Two trucks carrying life-saving medicines and relief supplies were still being detained at the main western gate in Tina, Sudan, for the fifth consecutive day. They were on their way to civilians in Nyala, South Darfur, and Zamzam camp for the displaced in North Darfur.
A source from the traditional administration in Tina, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Darfur24 that the Joint Forces of the Armed Movements in the town refused to allow the two trucks to leave after completing the procedures for their entry into Sudan. They attributed this delay to the presence of the Rapid Support Forces in Nyala and the Zamzam camp road. The trucks’s papers were seized.
Another source in the town of Tina revealed that there were obstacles by the Joint Forces of the Armed Movements to the flow of relief into the Darfur region, despite the decisions of the Sovereignty Council and North Darfur State not to intercept relief trucks that are being carefully inspected and have no violations.
Allegedly the matter of the two trucks was referred to the state and is awaiting the response of the commission and the authorities in El Fasher to allow them to leave and reach their destination.
Dozens of trucks also moved last Saturday towards Darfur region carrying relief supplies and were waiting in Adre, Chad, to reach Darfur via the border crossing after changing their route from Tina-Mellit due to the battles taking place in the desert and areas of Mellit and Al-Sayah.
