October 10, Khartoum — The commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo — also known as Hemeti — has accused the state of Egypt of participating in air strikes on his forces in Sudan.
On a video posted on social media on Wednesday, Hemeti said that the Egyptian air force intervened on behalf of the Sudanese army in the battles of the Jebel Moya area in Sennar State. He accused Cairo of training and providing drones to the army. He also said that they used U.S. bombs.
“If the Americans were not in agreement these bombs would not reach Sudan,” he said.
The Egyptian foreign ministry later issued a statement denying Hemeti’s accusations. “While Egypt denies those claims, it calls on the international community to ascertain the evidence that proves the truth of what the RSF militia leader said,” the foreign ministry said.
