October 8, Sirba — Residents of Abu-Soruj and Bier-Selaibah areas in Sirba, West Darfur State, said that they were subjected to violations by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during their attack and takeover on these areas.
A citizen of Sirba, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that he fled to Chad after the RSF attacks. He said that the RSF and militias killed and wounded civilians, in addition to looting and vandalizing homes. He said that the joint forces, stationed in those areas, withdrew before the attack began.
He also said that the Chadian authorities received the fleeing civilians and directed foreign organizations to expedite their registration and provide them with aid.
The United Nations said that 7,255 families fled Abu Suruj and Bir Salaba after clashes between the RSF and the Joint Force, some of whom were displaced to sites inside Sirba and others crossed the border into Chad.
