October 6, Um Dafuog — Dozens of Sudanese refugee families in the Brau camp in the Central African Republic organized protests on Sunday after not receiving their financial aid share for over six months.

A Sudanese refugee told Darfur24 that more than 70 Sudanese families did not receive their entitlements and staged protests, including the head of the camp, Ahmed Adam Al-Sheikh, and submitted a memorandum to the United Nations headquarters. This will allegedly be discussed with the United Nations office in Brau on Monday.

Sudanese refugees in the camp have been complaining about food shortages and sexual exploitation for the last few months. The Central African Republic (CAR) has been receiving thousands of Sudanese refugees since the conflict in Sudan began in mid-April 2023.
