October 7, Cairo — Egyptian authorities have decided to deport five Sudanese, including the journalist Ali Farsab, sources told Darfur24.

Approximately two weeks ago, the Egyptian authorities arrested five workers who cooperated with the Sudan Bokra channel, under the pretext of working without a license. Now, allegedly there are efforts to deport them, to destinations of their choice. Although the deportees hold a United Nations refugee card, the commission was unable to intervene because the matter relates to the country’s internal laws.

Around 500,000 Sudanese refugees are estimated to have fled to Egypt since the conflict began in April 2023.
