October 7, Kabkabiya — Farmers in Kabkabiya, capital of North Darfur State, are continuing to be attacked by an unidentified armed group, sources told Darfur24.

Local farmer Mohammed Abdul-Salam, 19, was killed by an armed force that ambushed him on his farm in the Bura area on Thursday.

A local leader in the town told Darfur24 that a number of women were also attacked by an armed group that refused to allow them to take animal feed from the farms and beat them severely last week. They were then transferred to the rural hospital for treatment. Some women were allegedly in critical condition.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been in control of Kabkabiya since May 2023 and has recently been on a campaign arresting civilians in the area.
