October 7, Sennar — The Sudanese army has allegedly regained control of the Moya Mountains in Sennar state, Central Darfur, following battles with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), military sources told Darfur24.
The RSF took control of the mountains in late June and took control of the Sennar’s state capital. But the army revealed, in a video clip published on its social media platforms on Saturday, that they had defeated the RSF and taken control.
By regaining control of the Moya Mountains, the army was allegedly able to open supply routes between the states of eastern Sudan and the states of White Nile, Al-Jazeera, Kordofan and Darfur.
