October 5, Mellit — At least eight people were killed and others injured in airstrikes on the city of Mellit on Friday morning, according to a medical source at the local hospital.

The medical source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Darfur24 that the airstrikes bombed the Al-Rahma area, located east of the city market, and the house of a citizen named Ibrahim Siddiq. Eight people died and others were injured and transferred to health centers and the rural hospital.

The bombing allegedly destroyed a large number of homes in the eastern area. Traders closed the market amid panic after the airstrikes.

The Sudanese Army’s air force have launched many airstrikes on the city after the Rapid Support Forces took control of it last April.
