October 1, El Fasher — On Monday, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) allowed the passage of two Doctors Without Borders (MSF) aid trucks, one to Zamzam camp and the other to the Tawila area, after they had been held for three-months.
A source in MSF told Darfur24 that the RSF had released the two trucks more than a week ago. Before that another MSF source expressed frustration that supplies were had been rotting in multiple trucks that were being held up.
The therapeutic food for children in the two trucks had allegedly expired due to the detention. MSF was therefore forced to reduce its supplies to Zamzam camp.
On Sunday, residents of Zamzam were protesting, demanding an end to the siege by the RSF which they say is causing widespread hunger and a severe shortage of essential supplies.
