September 29, El Fasher — Eight soldiers affiliated with the Sudanese army were killed and others injured on Saturday as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked Sudanese army bases in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur.
Military sources told Darfur24 that the RSF launched an artillery bombardment on the building of the Transitional Authority for the Darfur Region, which resulted in the destruction of military vehicles belonging to the army, including drones.
El Fasher witnessed heavy artillery bombardment by the RSF on Thursday and Friday, targeting the livestock market and some southern neighborhoods, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries, according to health authorities in North Darfur State.
The RSF have been launching attacks on El Fasher since May 10, in an attempt to seize the last army stronghold in Darfur.
