September 28, Malha — Military reinforcements have been arriving in the town of Malha, located 200km northeast of El Fasher, coming from the desert on Friday morning.
Activists circulated a video on social media showing the crossing of dozens of combat vehicles carrying military forces chanting slogans of the allied forces of the army.
A senior military source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Darfur24 that the forces arriving this morning were heading to the Darfur region on their way to El Fasher, passing through the areas of Sayah Malit. There are around 280 four-wheel drive combat vehicles, accompanied by thousands of fighters.
In anticipation of the joint force entering El Fasher, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of the town of Sayah two weeks ago and deployed large numbers of fighters in the desert. The RSF has been besieging the city of El Fasher since last April in an attempt to seize control of the last military garrison in Darfur
