September 27, Nairobi — A new cargo plane landed at Nyala city’s airport in South Darfur for the second time in a week, sources in the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and other eyewitnesses told Darfur24. Allegedly the plane landed with military equipment on board and belonged to the RSF.
An eyewitness said that the plane landed at 11:40pm on Wednesday and departed at 12:40am, noting that about a dozen military vehicles arrived at the airport after the plane landed.
For his part, a source in the Rapid Support Forces confirmed that the plane landed with military equipment on board without disclosing further information.
Last Saturday, an unknown cargo plane landed at Nyala Airport according to exclusive reporting by Darfur24, allegedly carrying wounded RSF soldiers.
On Tuesday, the Sudanese army’s warplanes bombed Nyala Airport, the capital of South Darfur, destroying part of the presidential hall, while it was not confirmed whether it hit the runway or not.
