September 25, Al-Rehaid — On Monday, the Rehaid Al-Birdi Peace Committee in South Darfur State opened a psychological support office at the local hospital, around 100 kilometers from Nyala, to work on alleviating psychological trauma resulting from war.
Mohamed Al-Baloul, head of the Rehaid Al-Birdi Peace Committee, told Darfur24 that the war has resulted in untold suffering and psychological distress among the population. He praised the Community Development for Progress Organization who are funding the project. The project will include distributing food baskets to families stay in shelter centers.
The head of the Civil Administration of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the locality, Yousif Hassan Omar, said that mass displacement that has occurred as a result of the war require a lot of work in the field of mental health.
