September 24, Nyala — The Sudanese army’s warplanes launched new airstrikes on Nyala, capital of South Darfur State at 2:15 am on Tuesday.
This comes day after an unidentified cargo plane landed at the airport.
A resident in the Majok neighborhood adjacent to the airport told Darfur24 that the plane bombed the airport located east of the neighborhood with more than five barrels, causing terror and panic among the residents. Allegedly there was no damages or casualties.
It was the first attack on city’s airport after the the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took Nyala last October.
This is the third airstrike in Nyala this month. Last week, eight civilians were killed after planes targeted a detention center.
