September 18, Adre — The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom accompanied by the Chadian Minister of Health, visited the border town of Adre, which hosts more than 635,000 Sudanese refugees fleeing conflict and hunger.
Over 600,000 Sudanese refugees have arrived in Adre since the war began.
According to posts published on X, Adhanom, visited the border town of Adre with Sudan on Monday, accompanied by Abdel Majeed Abdel Rahim, Chadian Minster of Health.
They allegedly delivered essential medical supplies to the health center in Adre, where the health system is under “tremendous pressure.”
While meeting refugees at a registration center, Adhanom met refugees who had walked for days to cross the border after their homes were burned, their crops destroyed and their animals stolen. “They had one message: we are hungry,” the post said.
