September 17, Miliet — Citizens in the town of Al-Sayah, 100 km northeast of El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, said that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) blocked citizens and medical staff from approaching the rural hospital and treating patients there.
Patients were forced to go to Miliet, Al-Malha, and nearby rural clinics for treatment after the RSF took control of the town on Thursday. The RSF allegedly established a base around the hospital and prevented medical staff from approaching it. Citizens were forced to transport the wounded and sick in carts over long distances.
Recent battles in the town have also left dozens dead, wounded and displaced, human rights activist Mohamed Adel told Darfur24.
A leader of the local administration in Miliet locality. who preferred to remain anonymous, told Darfur24 that the RSF attacked the town of Al-Sayah on Thursday with 30 four-wheel-drive vehicles from three axes in an attempt to control it, and impose its military and administrative influence.
The RSF retreated from the town after being repelled and captured a number of members of the popular resistance, then resumed the attack again on Thursday evening and took control of the town.
The town of Al-Sayah hosts thousands of displaced people who fled from El Fasher, Miliet and Khartoum after the outbreak of the war.
