September 17, Nyala — The death toll from the Sudanese army airstrike that hit the city of Nyala, South Darfur, on Monday, has risen to eight, including a woman, her baby and a lawyer called Al-Masri who were at a rickshaw station adjacent to to the premises of the intelligence services building.
The injured people reached 25, according to Darfur24 sources. Allegedly there were also casualties among the ranks of army soldiers at RSF detention centers.
It was the second Sudanese army airstrike in the city of Nyala in less than a week.
The Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement issued a statement condemning the clear targeting of innocent people, stressing that the continued use of the airstrikes against civilians is an illegal military act and constitutes a war crime.
