September 15, El Fasher — On Saturday, the allied movements announced they had killed dozens of Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighters during “sweeper operations” in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur.

Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, official spokesman, told Darfur 24 that the army and joint forces carried out extensive sweeper operations in the RSF pockets in the southeastern axis on Saturday morning, inflicting heavy losses.

The army also launched airstrikes on the RSF gatherings east of El Fasher, where they mistakenly bombed headquarters of the Transport Corps adjacent to their Sixth Infantry Division Command in the center of the city.

The RSF continued their artillery shelling of the city from midnight until noon, where they fired more than 60 shells, some of which targeted civilian homes and army bases south of El Fasher. The RSF has repeatedly tried to overrun El Fasher, suffering heavy losses in the process.

Since last Thursday’s battles, the city of El Fasher has witnessed intermittent clashes, which have caused civilian casualties and forced dozens of families to flee to the Tawila area.
