September 14 — Darfur24 has exclusively learned that Chad has deployed troops in the border strip adjacent to the North Darfur State in the Tina area to curb the entry of Chadian opposition fighters into its territory.
Chadian opposition leader Othman Dilo, whose forces fighting alongside the Sudan Liberation Movement faction in El Fasher, had left the capital of North Darfur State, following intensification of the fighting.
Othman Dilo left El Fasher on his way to the Jebel Marfain area, where his forces are based, sources told Darfur24 .
Othman Dilo is the brother of the head of the Chadian Socialist Party, Yahya Dilo, who was killed back in February 2024, in clashes at the party headquarters in the Chadian capital — an incident that his supporters described as a conspiracy to exclude him from the presidential race, while the government says that he opened fire on the security forces who arrived to arrest him.
