September 12, Buram — The RSF civil administration in South Darfur has imposed a one month state of emergency in the localities of Buram, Gereida, and Sunta in the southern part of the state, Adam Ismail, head of the joint security committee said.
The RSF administration directed all emergency courts to implement the provisions of the decision in their areas of jurisdiction. These prohibited the carrying of weapons inside cities and markets except for police forces and RSF soldiers, while banning the firing of firearms and trading of weapons and ammunition.
The decision banned any gatherings, demonstrations, seminars, or any situation that disturbs public security, such as publications, posters, or media publications. Anyone violating this will be arrested and brought before the emergency courts according to their jurisdiction. It also authorized the heads of civil administrations in the areas to set the date of the curfew in their local capitals, and that anyone who violates this will be tried with a month in prison or a fine of 200,000 Sudanese pounds.
The decision added that “anyone who sells, buys, or receives assets from state institutions must return them to the police in each locality and report the party that owns the asset within 72 hours from the date of the emergency order. After that, the joint forces must search all sites, homes, neighborhoods, and warehouses in the neighborhoods, and any suspect whose stolen goods are found in their possession will be brought to trial before the emergency court, which determines the value of the stolen goods, provided that it is not less than three million pounds.”
According to Darfur24 reporting, some areas in the southern sector witnessed the arrest of some of their leaders recently, accused of activities related to supporting the army.
