September 6 — The starvation crisis across Sudan is hitting “historic proportions” refugee councils said on Tuesday. More than 25 million people, over half the population, are suffering acute food insecurity.

Violence intensifies in North Darfur with arrests and airstrikes.
- In Mellit, two brothers were found dead after being arrested by the RSF. On Monday, the area was also hit by army airstrikes which killed at least 14 people.
- In El Fasher, army airstrikes have continued and hit civilians. On Monday, at least 13 civilians were killed.
- A curfew was imposed by the RSF in Kabkabiya town following repeated airstrikes amid a massive arrest campaign.
- A violent arrest campaign is taking place against citizens of Arab descent in Al-Tina.
Flooding in North Darfur continues, isolating areas and destroying homes.
- Floods swept away the road linking El Fasher and Zamzam camp. Hundreds of homes collapsed.
- In Kassab camp, heavy rains killed a family and destroyed 1,700 homes.
Across Darfur, there is a severe shortage of medical supplies.
- In El Fasher, North Darfur hospitals are facing a shortage of life-saving medicines. Patients’ health is rapidly deteriorating.
