August 27, El Fasher — The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) bombed the Police Hospital in El Fasher, capital of north Darfur, wounding six hospital workers and destroying the building and those surrounding it, on Sunday and Monday.
The RSF has been fighting the Sudanese army in El Fasher since May. Most hospitals in the city are currently out of service after being repeatedly shelled — the military hospital is the only functioning clinic.
The Director General of the Ministry of Health in north Darfur, Ibrahim Abdullah Khater, confirmed on Monday that the shelling of hospitals in El Fasher is part of the RSF’s systematic targeting.
On Monday, an RSF shelling also killed 25 civilians in a displacement camp in North Darfur.
