August 26, Adre — There are no medical services in a makeshift camp for Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad, health workers and refugees have told Darfur24.

More than 70,000 Sudanese refugees currently reside in the makeshift camp in Adre city for Sudanese refugees, where they are waiting to be relocated. One patient told Darfur24 that the hospital, run by foreign organizations, has no medicine, and medical workers only speak French, making it difficult for patients to communicate.

Health workers in make-shift camps housing Sudanese refugees in Adre city, eastern Chad, are also complaining about the poor medical services provided by foreign organizations.

Dr. Amal Salah Ahmed, medical director of a Sudanese volunteer field clinic, said they receive more than 150 cases a day, and this is only expected to increase.

Since the war broke out last April, over 600,000 Sudanese refugees have fled to Chad. They initially arrive at spontaneous, informal settlements along the border, where there is extremely limited access to humanitarian support.
