August 25, El Daein — On Sunday, a Sudanese army warplane launched an airstrike on the city of El Daein, capital of East Darfur State. This was the second airstrike of its kind in the city in less than a week. 

Eyewitnesses told Darfur24 that an Antonov aircraft dropped three explosive barrels on a vaccination center, west of El Daein Teaching Hospital and near the headquarters of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS). The strike allegedly hit two houses, but no casualties have yet been reported. 

On Tuesday, Sudanese army aircrafts hit El Daein Teaching Hospital, killing 18 civilians mostly women, including six hospital employees, and injuring approximately 20 others.
