August 22, Al-Koma — On Wednesday, a woman and her four children were killed by Sudanese army fighters launched airstrikes on the town of Al-Koma, 75 km from El Fasher in North Darfur state.

The children and their mother had been admitted to the clinic with varying injuries and immediately underwent surgery, a medical source at Al-Koma Rural Hospital told Darfur24. But they all passed away, largely due to the lack of necessary equipment at the hospital.

Mohamed Hassan Saleh, an eyewitness, told Darfur24 that the warplanes bombed sheep pastures on the outskirts of Al-Koma town with a number of explosive barrels killing over 150 livestock. It appears that it was only civilian areas that were hit, he said, as no Rapid Support Forces (RSF) gathering points were affected.

On Tuesday, army warplanes launched air raids on the city of El-Daien in East Darfur and Al-Tawisha in North Darfur, killing and wounding dozens of civilians.
