Cairo — Tom Perriello, U.S. envoy to Sudan, arrived in Egypt today to hold talks on the “collective diplomatic efforts underway in Switzerland to advance humanitarian access, civilian protection, compliance with the Jeddah Declaration, and a cessation of hostilities in Sudan.”
Perriello said that he was briefing U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and senior Egyptian officials in a post on X. He also said that would meet with a delegation from Port Sudan regarding the participation of the Sudanese Armed Forces in Geneva talks.
The Sovereignty Council announced on Sunday that it would send a delegation to Cairo to discuss the government’s vision for implementing the Jeddah Agreement.
