Al-Malha — On Saturday, the Sudanese army’s warplanes launched airstrikes on the Abu Hamira area in Umm Kadada, 168 km east of El Fasher, the provincial capital of North Darfur state.

Eyewitnesses told Darfur24 that two Sukhoi planes affiliated with the Sudanese army launched airstrikes on the area — which is located 30 km south of Umm Kadada — and fired two shells in the vicinity of a water station in the Telis area. No loss of life or property damage were reported.

The Central Reserve Forces stationed in Abu Hamira have withdrawn from the area since the fighting began last year, and there are no military targets in the area, according to residents.

Thousands of Umm Kadada residents fled to Abu Hamira following tribal fighting that broke out in the area last March, leaving dead and wounded.
