Al Fasher, August4( Darfur 24)An Antonov aircraft belonging to the Sudanese army’s launched airstrikes on the areas of Al Zarq, Kabkabiya and Kutum in North Darfur on Saturday evening.

A medical source from the city of Kutum, 136 km northwest of Al Fasher, the state capital, said that the warplanes launched airstrikes on the rural hospital with 3 missiles and destroyed a number of rooms without causing any human losses.

The source – who preferred to remain anonymous – told “Darfur 24” that “dozens of patients were in wards adjacent to the bombing site and left safely.

He added: “Perhaps the warplanes intended to bomb some of the wounded from the Rapid Support Forces in the hospital, which is crowded with civilians.”

An eyewitness from Kutum, Asaad Musa, condemned the repeated airstrikes on the only hospital in the area without clear reasons and the disregard of the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces present in the area.

Asaad told Darfur24 that last night’s airstrike was the fourth targeting the hospital without anyone being injured.

According to eyewitnesses from the Al-Zarq area, located more than 180 km north of Al-Fasher, the warplanes launched intensive airstrikes last night targeting some empty buildings in the area without any human losses.

In the city of Kabkabiya, 136 km west of Al-Fasher, the warplanes launched airstrikes on the city without any civilian casualties.

A resident of Kabkabiya said that the Rapid Support Forces, which control the city, have banned the Starlink satellite internet service locations, justifying the move by saying that there are individuals working to provide the warplanes with coordinates.

Yesterday’s airstrike on Kabkabiya is the seventh to target the city and has left dozens dead and wounded, the last of which was in June, when a woman died and others were wounded.

The airstrike that targeted Al-Fasher on Friday evening killed 13 people and wounded dozens in a raid that targeted the Abuja camp for displaced persons north of Al-Fasher.
