El Fasher, August3 ( Darfur 24)At least 13 people were killed and dozens others injured on Friday as Sudanese army launched airstrike on Abuja IDP camp on the vicinity of El Fasher, the provincial capital of North Darfur state.
Eyewitnesses from Abuja IDP camp told Darfur 24 that the Army air force launched several airstrikes on Friday on Rapid Support Forces gatherings in the northeastern axis of El Fasher, including Abuja IDP camp, killing and wounding dozens of IDPs.
Displaced person, Mohamed Zakaria from Block 18 said that one of the airstrikes targeted the home of Ahmed Shamo, who lost his son Moatasem to Rapid Support Forces gunfire last week, killing 13, including 7 from one family.
He added: “The airstrike coincided with a visit by a group of Rapid Support Forces in combat vehicles and motorcycles to the home of the family of Moatasem, who was killed by their RSF ‘ bullets last week.”
Abuja camp witnessed, on Saturday morning, an almost complete displacement of citizens to Naivasha camp and Abu Shouk neighborhood in Hilla, fearing new airstrikes by the Sudanese Air Force.
It is worth noting that the Rapid Support Forces have been stationed in large parts of Abuja camp since last April.
