The Director General of the Ministry of Health in North Darfur State, Ibrahim Khater, accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF )Monday of bombing the Saudi Hospital in El Fasher with more than 15 shells, which destroyed part of the rooms and a number of vehicles of the state Ministry of Health.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, Ibrahim Khater revealed the killing of 23 citizens during the bombing that was carried out today in El Fasher.

Khater pointed out that the medical staff, despite the artillery shelling of the hospital, continued to work to save the lives of the injured.

He added: “Even if the hospital is completely destroyed, we will work to provide services to citizens even under the trees and any veranda and alley will be an operating room, laboratory and accident room to receive patients and war casualties and we will not be restricted to a specific location.”

Yesterday, Sunday, the city of El Fasher witnessed shelling via drones launched by the Rapid Support Forces on the vicinity of the Nabd Al Hayat Clinic located in the middle of the market.

Khater strongly condemned the continued shelling of health facilities by the Rapid Support Forces, the latest of which was the Saudi Hospital, the only hospital providing obstetrics, gynecology and surgery services.

Al-Fasher was subjected to artillery shelling on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, after a period of calm in the city, where deadly fighting had erupted between the army, allied armed movements and the Rapid Support Forces since May 10.

The North Darfur government said the shelling had killed 60 people and injured 100 others.
