Senior official revealed that 25 people were killed and 50 others were injured on Saturday, following an exchange of artillery shelling between the Sudanese army and the armed movements supporting it on the one hand and the Rapid Support Forces( RSF )on the other hand in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.
The Director General of the Ministry of Health in North Darfur State, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Khater, told “Darfur 24” that “25 dead and 50 injured were counted as a result of the shelling by the Rapid Support Forces on the livestock market and the surrounding neighborhoods.”
A medical source at the Saudi Hospital revealed to “Darfur 24” that dozens of injured people arrived at the hospital as a result of the artillery shelling, some of whom are in critical condition, including children and women, and there is a shortage of medicines and medical supplies as the injured continue to arrive at the hospital.
Al-Fasher Resistance Committees member Abdel-Mowla Hamid accused the Rapid Support Forces of shelling the livestock market today with 5 shells despite the presence of civilians in the market and targeting the neighborhoods of Al-Radeef, Tambasi and the Nabd Al-Hayat Clinic, which serves citizens.
Abdel-Mowla told Darfur 24 that the Rapid Support Forces, which have caused the deaths and injuries of thousands since last May through deliberate artillery shelling of populated neighborhoods, started shelling civilians today.
The renewed artillery shelling in the city last Thursday morning by the Rapid Support Forces by targeting Square 12 in the Abshok camp for displaced persons, which is under the control of the Sudanese army and the armed movements allied with it, resulted in the death of two people and the injury of at least 8 others, most of whom are from one family.
Abdel-Mowla said that the Rapid Support Forces shelled the Nabd Al-Hayat Clinic, located in the middle of the city market and under the control of the Sudanese army, again today, Saturday, with a drone after bombing it last Wednesday after its reopening, which resulted in the death of two people and the injury of another.
Fighting inside El Fasher since May has killed and injured more than 2,000 people, according to the Director General of the Ministry of Health in North Darfur State.
According to the IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix, about 328,000 people have been displaced from El Fasher to the areas of Tawila and Rorkoro in Jebel Marra, the areas of Mellit, Malha, Shangil Tobay, and the cities of Khazan Jadid and Ed Daein in East Darfur, and Nyala in South Darfur.
