On Monday, the Civil Administration of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF )in South Darfur has appointed heads of departments in the state’s localities and established a 65-member Civilian Council.
The Rapid Support Forces took control of South Darfur state last October, before appointing a civil administration to take over the affairs of the state the previous June, headed by Mohamed Ahmed Hassan.
The Minister of Information and official spokesman for the Civil Administration in South Darfur, Adam Ismail Al-Nur, announced the appointment of Yasser Bashar Bashir as head of the Civil Administration for Buram locality, Muhammad Adam Muhammad for Adalfursan locality, and Adam Zakaria Shambal for Kibm locality.
He revealed the appointment of Amer Abkar Muhammad as head of administration for Al Wahda locality, Fahd Ahmed Adam Jaber for Damso locality, Musa Omar Adam for Tullus locality, Ahmed Ali Atim for Gereida locality, Abdel Majeed Ishaq Abdel Karim for East Jebel Marra locality, Youssef Hassan Omar for Rahid Al Bardi locality, and Jaafar Abdullah Ibrahim for Katila locality.
He pointed out that Musa Sheikh Taha Ahmed was appointed to administer Nyala North locality, Fadali Issa Fadali to Umm Dafouk locality, Suleiman Ishaq Ali to Belil locality, Saif al-Din Ali Mahmoud al-Tayeb to Kas locality, and Al-Amin Ishaq Ahmed Fadil to Shataya locality.
Heads of civil administrations were not appointed in five localities, namely the municipalities of Nyala, Radom, Ntika, Lasanta, and Mershing, as Minister of Information Adam Ismail attributed the delay in naming heads of these localities to further consultations.
“Darfur 24” learned of instructions issued to the heads of civil administrations in the localities to select three people from each administrative unit to establish the founding council assigned to each locality.
The Rapid Support had formed city administrations in both Al-Jazira and South and West Darfur.
According to “Darfur 24” follow-ups, the consultations and movement of the advisory body are underway to announce the civil administrations in the rest of the states under its control.
