A source at the World Relief Organization reported that the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator, Toby Harward, at the head of a number of United Nations agencies, arrived in the Darfur region on Wednesday.
The source said that the UN delegation will visit all the shelter centers spread in the neighborhoods of the city of Zalingei in central Darfur, and the camps for the displaced in the city, and then it will move to Jebel Marra, starting with “Nirtiti,” to assess the humanitarian situation there.
The delegation confirmed that it will also visit the city of “Golo” in central Jebel Marra to assess the conditions of the displaced and those affected in the shelter centers and the Debba Nira camp, and from there to the city of Rokorokro, which hosts thousands of people fleeing from the city of El Fasher in North Darfur, and from there to the Fanga area, then to the areas of Sortuni and Tawila, which in turn hosts thousands of displaced people. .
The United Nations has promised to make more efforts to reach the displaced and those fleeing the clashes that took place between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in the various cities of Darfur, especially the city of El Fasher, whose residents are still in constant displacement, fleeing to the areas of Jebel Marra, Tawila, Sortney and Rokro, which are controlled by the Sudan Liberation Army Movement.
