On Monday, the Minister of Education of the Civil Administration of the Rapid Support Forces in South Darfur State, Mohieddin Abdullah Abdul Jabbar, announced a new calendar for the academic year.

On June 12, the civil administration official in South Darfur, Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, formed a local government of 10 ministries to administer the state, which has been under the control of the Rapid Support Forces since October 2023.

Mohieddin Abdullah Abdul Jabbar issued a decision obtained by Darfur 24, which stipulated amending the academic calendar at all primary, middle and secondary levels.

It was decided to continue studying in all stages until Saturday, September 7, with transfer exams in the primary, middle and secondary levels taking place from September 7 to 15, 2024.

The decision stipulates that the primary and intermediate certificate exams will be held on Saturday, September 21, while the new academic year 2024-2025 will begin on Sunday, October 20.

Mohieddin Abdullah Abdul Jabbar said that he issued the decision based on the decision to appoint ministers of the Civil Administration of South Darfur and the proposals of the administration of examinations, evaluation and measurement.

On May 29, the governor of South Darfur, designated Bashir Mursal Hasballah, who runs the state from Port Sudan, decided to suspend the work of the executive branch and all civil service personnel whom he warned against dealing with the Rapid Support Forces, considering those who work with them to be rebels and to be held accountable in accordance with the Criminal Law and the Civil Service Law.
