Kampala, July 4(Darfur24)

The Popular Movement, the Democratic Revolutionary Current, revealed the participation of the dissolved National Congress Party NCP in a consultative meeting for Sudanese women organized by the African Union in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.

The movement said in a statement that it boycotted the meeting in protest against the presence of the representative of the National Congress Party, Amira Al-Fadil.

According to a statement by the movement, the revolutionary and democratic forces were surprised by Amira Al-Fadil’s attendance at the Sudanese Women’s Consultative Conference, which is supervised by the African Union and its high-ranking mechanism, in Kampala on July 3 and 4 of this month.

The statement added, “Despite the protests from democratic women and women of the revolutionary forces, the organizers decided to defend Amira Al-Fadil, and she was even presented at the beginning of the sessions in particular as one of the most prominent Sudanese women participating.”

He continued, “We in the Popular Movement, the Revolutionary Democratic Movement, decided, after consultations, to withdraw and boycott this event, which aims to normalize the presence and participation of the National Conference and reward it for its war and destruction of Sudan, instead of holding it accountable and not letting it escape punishment.”

The statement indicated that coordination is taking place with representatives of democratic women and revolutionary forces in this regard, stressing that there is an urgent need for coordination between the platforms held in at least four countries this month regarding the political process, its tasks, and the foundations on which it is based.

He explained that the question still remains about the connection between the civil path and the military path, how to link them, and how to urgently reach an end to the war, address the humanitarian catastrophe, human rights violations, war crimes, and protect civilians as a prior duty and a top priority.

The statement revealed attempts to involve the National Congress at the door or through the window to kill the December Revolution as a price for this war, calling for confronting and stopping these attempts before it is too late, according to the statement.
