Sinja, July 2(Darfur24)
Eyewitnesses said the Rapid Support Forces entered the city of Dinder, Sennar State, amid widespread looting operations that affected citizens’ property and government buildings, at a time when the army continued to withdraw towards Gedaref.
The Rapid Support Forces penetrated the villages surrounding the city of Sinja, the state capital, before breaking the siege imposed by the army on Sunday night on the leadership of the “17th” Division.
A military source told “Darfur 24” that the army forces withdrew on Sunday night from the city of Sinja without a clash, after a limited siege of the “17th” Division, which was controlled by the Rapid Support Forces.
The army sought to recover the division with the support of the joint forces that moved in an emergency manner from the Al-Faw axis, in addition to the forces of the Operations Authority.
A source in the joint told “Darfur 24” that the army forces withdrew towards Dinder without notifying the joint and the operations authority, after which the joint forces returned to their fixed axis in Al-Faw.
The army did not issue any comment after the fall of Sinja, except for a brief statement by the official spokesman in which he said that the army was fighting the battle to reclaim the city in high morale.
“Darfur 24” learned that the army forces continued their withdrawal until the city of Gedaref.
On the other hand, the Rapid Support Forces expanded to the areas of “Al-Suki, Al-Dali, Kirkuk, and Umm Banin.”
In the city of Sennar, an eyewitness told “Darfur 24” that military appearances inside the city decreased after the fall of Sinja, amid reports of battles in the Jabal Muya area, southwest of Sennar.
