Damazin,July 2(Darfur24)
“Darfur 24”has learned that the Sudanese army cut off communications and Internet services for the two companies, “Zain and Sudani,” from the city of Damazin, the capital of Blue Nile State, and also prevented the use of the satellite Internet device, “Star Link.”
This comes after the Rapid Support Forces took control of the city of Sinja, the capital of Sennar State, amid fears of its expansion south to the Blue Nile.
A source from the city of Damazin told “Darfur 24” that the military intelligence of the Sudanese army has cut off communications networks in the city since last Sunday, and satellite Internet shops in the markets were also closed.
It is noteworthy that thousands of citizens were displaced to the city of Damazin fleeing Sinja as a result of the recent clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.
The Rapid Support Forces penetrated the villages surrounding the city of Sinja, the state capital, while the army forces withdrew on Sunday night from the city of Sinja without a clash, after a limited siege of the “17th” Division, which was controlled by the Rapid Support Forces.
“Darfur 24” learned that the army forces continued their withdrawal until the city of Gedaref.
On the other hand, the Rapid Support Forces expanded to the areas of “Al-Suki, Al-Dali, Kirkuk, and Umm Banin.”
