Khartoum , July 1(Darfur 24)
The army has accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) destroying the Halfaya Bridge in the city of Khartoum Bahri.
Last May 31, Khartoum North witnessed fierce battles between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, as the army was able to cross the Halfaya Bridge and penetrate deep into the sea after it was able to destroy the outposts that the Rapid Support Forces were establishing on the eastern side of the bridge.
The office of the official spokesman for the armed forces said, in a statement obtained by “Darfur 24”, that “in continuation of its systematic targeting of the country’s infrastructure and capabilities, the Al-Dagalo terrorist militia yesterday evening destroyed part of the Halfaya Bridge on the eastern side, causing damage to the concrete structures.” .
He stressed that the RSF used attempts to destroy infrastructure and vital installations to “cover up its failure to achieve its malicious goals and in the belief that this would prevent the armed forces from performing their duty to cleanse the nation of their filth.”
