Zalingei , June 30(Darfur24)
For more than a week in the city of Zalingei, the capital of North Central Darfur State, a delegation from the Advisory Council of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been conducting consultations with civil administrations, representatives of the political community and professional fronts, and representatives of some localities to name the founding administration (the Legislative Council) and the civil administration (the state government).
The Rapid Support Forces control 6 out of 9 localities in Central Darfur State, while the remaining three localities are under the control of the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid Mohamed Nour.
Informed sources who spoke to “Darfur 24” expected that the Advisory Council of the Rapid Support Forces would approve Abdul Karim Yusuf Othman as head of the civil administration if a more acceptable alternative that represents the majority of the state’s population was not presented in the consultations.
It ruled out adopting any candidate from the Arab components, because the region represents its Fur population.
The Rapid Support Forces Advisory Council is considered a political front that supervises the formation of civil administrations in the states under its control.
RSF formed civilian administrations in the states of Al-Jazira and South Darfur, amid expectations that similar administrations will be formed in West, Central and East Darfur soon.
