A huge fire broke out today, Friday, in the “Moga” oil wells of the Balila oil field, southwest of Al-Fula, the capital of West Kordofan State, due to a thunderbolt.
An eyewitness, Bala Hassan, told “Darfur 24” that, “At approximately 5 a.m. a thunderbolt struck the Moga wells, which belong to the Balila field in West Kordofan state.
He confirmed that the fire caused partial damage to the wells before the engineers closed the well valves only because there were no means to extinguish the fire, explaining that the precautions taken by the engineers helped prevent major losses in the wells.
