Sennar , June 26(Darfur 24)The governor of Sennar, Tawfiq Muhammad Ali, said that the city of Sennar was surrounded by the Rapid Support Forces with “7” vehicles, and the attacking forces fired “3” shells, causing great confusion.
Tawfiq added in a video statement that the army and forces responded to the attack, stressing the stability of the situation.
The sounds of cannons and shells were heard inside Sennar amid panic for hours, before cautious calm returned to the city.
On Tuesday the Rapid Support Forces took control of the strategic Jabal Muya area, 40 km southwest of Sennar, and hundreds of civilians fled on foot towards Sinja, Sennar and Rabak.
