El Fasher , June 25(Darfur 24)Thousands of residents from the villages and local areas of Ambro, 200 km northwest of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, western Sudan have fled to neibouring Chad, following the fierce battles between the Rapid Support Forces RSF and the Joint Force this month.

The community leader in the Umbro area, Haroun Jumaa, told “Darfur 24” that the battles between the Rapid Support Forces and the Joint Force in the vicinity of Wadi Howar and the Zarqa Desert forced about 6,000 people, most of them women, children and the elderly, to be displaced and the loss of approximately 50 people whose whereabouts are not yet known.

He said that residents left the( inflamed areas) to the forests in tragic humanitarian conditions without water or food amid an urgent need to intervene and move them to “Ambro, Beri, Al-Tineh, Karnoy and the safe villages.”

A government source in the border city of Al-Tineh, which is under the control of the Sudanese army and its armed movement allies, revealed that hundreds of residents crossed from El-Fasher and the desert areas to the neighboring country of Chad via transport vehicles.

He told “Darfur 24” that many families are leaving for the “Ardmi and Teram” camp inside the state of Chad, explaining that “dozens of those who were in schools in the city of Al-Tineh also went to camps inside neighboring Chad.”

The Sudanese city of Al-Tineh on the border with Al-Tineh of Chad is considered one of the most important strategic cities with a commercial and economic dimension and social interaction between the two countries.
