Sennar, June 25(Darfur 24)
An eyewitness from Sennar told “Darfur 24” that the city witnessed a slight wave of displacement from the peripheral neighborhoods northwest of the city, noting that schools were closed yesterday after the “Jabal Muya” area fell into the hands of the Rapid Support Forces.
The eyewitness indicated that market movement returned to normal on Tuesday after witnessing a partial closure on Monday, while schools continued to remain closed.
He confirmed that the Sudanese army reconnaissance aircraft continued to fly in the sky of the city of Sennar during the day on Tuesday.
There was a state of anxiety after the Rapid Support Forces took control of the strategic Jabal Muya area, about 40 km west of Sennar, and random shells fell inside the peripheral neighborhoods of Sennar, causing panic among the residents.
Meanwhile, the city received numbers of displaced people from “Jabal Muya” who arrived on foot, while hundreds fled to the city of Sinja, south of Sennar.
The “Jabal Muya” area is considered a strategic area linking the states of Sennar, the White Nile, and the Gezira, as the city of Al-Manaqil, which is under the control of the army, has now become isolated, and the states of Sennar and the White Nile have been separated from each other.
