South Kordofan, June 14(Darfur 24)

Communications services have been cut off from large parts of South Kordofan state, including the capital, Kadugli, for reasons, some of which are related to the lack of fuel supplied to communications towers, according to “Darfur 24” sources.

Many areas in the state of South have been more than 6 months in isolation from the world due to the interruption of communications and Internet services.

Sources told “Darfur 24” that telecommunications and Internet service was cut off from the city of Dilling, the largest city in the state, on Thursday, June 13. It also stopped in the cities of Abbasiya, Taqli, Rashad, and Abu Jubaiha on June 9 and 10, while it was cut off from “Kalogi, Talodi, Tartar, Liri, Ambarmbita, Al-Fayd, Abu Karshula, Habila, and Dalami.” Since last December.

According to the sources, the service stopped in Dilling due to the lack of fuel, while it stopped in Abu Jubaiha and Abbasiya for reasons related to the solar energy devices supplied to the towers.

The sources indicated that communications returned to the city of Rashad today, Friday, after a 3-day interruption intentionally by the army authorities in the region.

It is noteworthy that the cities of “Kadugli and Dilling” are still living under siege from all directions by the Rapid Support Forces on the one hand and the Popular Movement forces on the other hand.

Citizens in South Kordofan suffer from high prices of basic goods, scarcity of money, and absence of humanitarian aid.

Most of the citizens of South Kordofan depend on telecommunications networks for financial transfers through the Bank of Khartoum “Bankak” application.
