Port Sudan, June13(Darfur24)
A well-informed military source revealed to Darfur 24 that a shipment of ammunition for Sukhoi guided aircraft arrived from Russia.

The Vice President of the Sovereignty Council; Malik Aqar, two days ago, completed a visit to Russia that extended for days, following the visit of a senior Russian delegation to the country last April, during which it concluded understandings between the two parties regarding military agreements.

The source said that the Red Sea ports received the ammunition shipment, expecting the shipment of Sukhoi aircraft to arrive within days.

Sukhoi aircraft are distinguished by their accuracy in identifying targets, their ability to bomb over long ranges, in addition to their wide arsenal of missiles.

Russia wants to obtain a military base on the Red Sea, according to statements by Sudanese officials. The Sudanese Minister of Minerals also signed agreements with Russian companies to explore for gold in Sudan while accompanying a property owner on his recent visit to Russia.

Assistant Commander of the Sudanese Army; Yasser Al-Atta said that Sudan does not mind giving Russia a military base on the Red Sea.

“Darfur 24” indicates that the army, since the outbreak of the war on April 15, has faced many difficulties in obtaining weapons and has been resorting to purchasing through intermediaries.
